Why Give

Your donation shows your support for the Commitment to Care Campaign. Your gift helps to improve patient access to medical care, reduce waiting times, and expand out-patient services in the Dufferin-Caledon region. You help make these advancements in our community’s health care possible.

Ways to Give

You may choose to support the highest priority equipment needs or a specific department or program. All donations are counted toward the $14 million Commitment to Care Campaign.

Following is a number of ways to donate. All donations are confidential and will be recognized (unless you request anonymity) through Headwaters Health Care Foundation’s donor recognition program.

As well, gifts are eligible for a receipt for income tax purposes to the full extent provided by the Canada Revenue Agency.

Mail-in Donations

You can make a donation by downloading and completing a donor form.

Your gift will be used to purchase the equipment the hospital needs right now to provide the best care for the people of Dufferin-Caledon.

You can also choose to make a monthly gift.

By becoming a monthly contributor to Headwaters Health Care Foundation, you help ensure a regular, dependable flow of income for equipment purchases. Your donation is convenient, automatic and cost effective. Foundation mailing and administration costs are reduced, which helps more funds to be directed to the hospital.

By participating in our monthly giving program, your generosity will be spread throughout the year. You may make pre-authorized donations with a credit card or through your bank account.

You may discontinue your gifts at any time by providing written notice to the Foundation.

In Memory

A memorial gift can be made to remember a family member, friend or colleague who has passed away. This is a special way to commemorate the memory of a loved one. Your gift also demonstrates your commitment to improving the quality of life for those in our community.

When we receive your gift, we send an acknowledgement of your thoughtfulness to the family.

In Honour

Honouring a special occasion with a gift to Headwaters Health Care Foundation is a thoughtful way to acknowledge someone by supporting a cause they care about.

Your gift might celebrate a birthday, wedding, retirement or any other significant milestone. We’ll send a card to the person you are honouring with your personal message when we receive your gift.

Headwaters Babies - Baby Fish

Celebrate the birth of your child by enrolling your baby as a Headwaters’ Baby. It’s an ideal gift from grandparents, relatives or friends.

A baby fish displaying your baby’s name and birth date will be added to the brightly coloured Water Babies’ Mural located in Obstetrics.

Created by artist Rudolf Kurz, the mural is a permanent commemoration of those children born at Headwaters Health Care Centre. Proceeds are directed to Women and Children’s Health.

Gifts-in-Kind

A gift-in-kind is a non-cash gift, including securities, real estate and items for silent or live auctions. These gifts-in-kind are evaluated and appraised in order to confirm their value and to provide an income tax receipt. Not all gifts-in-kind are eligible to receive a receipt (for example, gifts certificates or gifts of services or expertise).

We cannot accept gifts of used medical equipment.

Planned Gifts

Health care is a priority now and will continue to be for future generations. Planned gifts are becoming an increasingly popular way to leave a lasting gift. Bequests made through your will and special gifts by other methods such as life insurance or charitable trusts will help patients for years to come. We will work with you to find the vehicle best suited to your giving style.

Recognizing Your Gift

Donor Recognition

Headwaters Health Care Foundation has a formal donor recognition policy and program. Appropriate campaign recognition will be provided within the scope of this framework, suitable to each gift level. Naming opportunities are available at HHCC at 100 Rolling Hills Drive in Orangeville.

To recognize the generosity of our donors, we offer a variety of benefits in addition to naming opportunities, which include: feature articles and acknowledgement in our Foundation publications, an annual report listing, press releases, permanent recognition on the donor wall at Headwaters Health Care Centre, and invitations to donor recognition events.

We would be pleased to discuss donor recognition with you and customize opportunities to your wishes.

Headwaters Circle of Friends

This leadership giving society recognizes donors who make an annual commitment of $1,000 and more.

Members of this special group will receive exclusive opportunities for involvement and recognition, including:

    • recognition as a member of the Headwaters’ Circle of Friends in Spring issue of Heads Up to Your Health (unless anonymity is requested);
    • recognition on the Headwaters’ Circle of Friends donor display;
    • invitation to the annual Donor Appreciation Event;
    • receipt of Headwaters Health Care Centre’s Annual Report upon request;
    • advance notice and opportunity to participate in major Foundation events;
    • charitable receipt for your annual gift.

Partners in Caring

Our Partners in Caring donors demonstrate their ongoing commitment to local health care by supporting our hospital’s highest priority equipment needs through monthly giving.

Partners in Caring donations are always directed to areas where they’ll do the most good for the most patients. Since monthly giving saves on administration costs, more patients benefit from your generosity.

Members of Partners in Caring will receive exclusive opportunities for involvement and recognition:

  • Acknowledgement annually in the Fall edition of Heads Up to Your Health (unless anonymity is requested);
  • Invitation to Headwaters Health Care Foundation’s annual Donor Appreciation Event;
  • Receive advance notice of and the opportunity to participate in major HHCF events;
  • Receive a consolidated tax receipt for the total amount of your annual donations (in February).
